Start of operation: Spring 2009
Processing capacity: 1,000 Nm³/h of raw biogas
Input: NAWARO

On order by the regional utility company E.ON Mitte AG and C4 Energie AG, the companies MT-Energie GmbH & Co. KG and MT-Biomethan GmbH are currently building a complete biogas project with a fermentation line and gas processing system in Hardegsen, Germany (county of Northeim). This large-scale project has a total volume of approximately eleven million euros.

In all the new biogas plant comprises seven tanks – two digesters, two post-digesters and three residue storage tanks. From the spring of 2009 it will produce 35,315 cu ft (1,000 m3) of raw biogas per hour. More than 40 farms from the region supply the raw materials required to operate the plant.

The biogas plant serves as a pilot project for the processing of biogas in Lower Saxony. E.ON Mitte will buy the raw biogas produced from Hardegsen C4 Energie GmbH& Co. KG, process it to natural gas quality and feed it into the general gas network.
